Materials for floor, wall, and exterior wall
Here are some of the floor, wall, and exterior wall materials commonly used by T&A.  Given our clients’ budget and requests, we try to choose materials that are durable, that have stately flavors even after many years, that are natural, and/or that structurally brings coziness to houses.  We not only look at the designs, but also think of creating dwelling spaces that stay comfortable even until decades from now.

-Bamboo flooring-

Natural material that fits both Western and Japanese-style rooms

Unique beauty of bamboos

Cross section of the glue-laminated pure bamboo
T&A often employs bamboo flooring.  Bamboo floors match both Western and Japanese-style rooms, and have some kind of a flavor that is different from those of wooden floors.  Moreover, bamboos grow a few tenfold faster than ordinary trees, thereby solving the environmental problem of logging.  We use glue-laminated pure bamboo, which are stronger and more humidity-resistant than wood, so there is less room for error (for seasonal and gradual shape-changes) as compared to wood.  Bamboos are indeed one of the most eco-friendly and human-friendly floor materials.

-Diatomite wall-

Best match for Japan’s traditional-style, chic atmosphere
Diatom earth “Eco Queen” used by T&A has various features that allow for pleasant home-living.  It does not emit hazardous chemicals, but also helps delete hazardous chemicals emitted by other construction materials.  It has heat insulation, heat accumulation, heat retention, and coldness-retention effects that help prevent global warming via reduction of energy used by ACs and heaters.  Further, there are humidity resistance, dew condensation resistance, humidity conditioning, deodorant, antifouling, fireproof, and acoustic features, making it one of the best natural material for creating pleasant and healthy living spaces.

-Kyoto wall with Hon-Juraku paint-

Best match for Japan’s traditional-style, chic atmosphere
T&A uses Kyoto wall with Hon-Juraku paint for traditional tea rooms and other Japanese-style rooms.  It has such features as humidity conditioning, dew-condensation resistant, heat insulation, and sound absorption effects, making it an ideal natural material for full-fledged, chic Japanese-style rooms.

-Spraying of elastic acrylic lysine-

Waterproof sheets and W-lath

Lath-mortar and fiber net

For completion of exterior walls, T&A very often uses the “Lath-mortar non-crack method” developed by Fujikawakenzaikogyo Co., Ltd.  The method builds in ARICE glass fiber net onto the surface layer of highly durable, lightweight mixture of mortar and lath-mortar.  Its distinct feature is the high durability that prevents crack formation and allows for various finishes.  The spraying of elastic lysine strengthens the crack-proof feature and also adds algae-proof and mold-proof effects.  Lysine sprays come in many colors, so it allows for a variety of flavors for exterior appearance.  The combination of these methods and materials are truly effectual in maintaining the beauty of buildings for a longtime.
